geology

It would be a paper based on the attached draft.

Instructions for the draft to develop into the final paper:
there are some problems to be addressed as you proceed:
1) You will need more sources
2) You need an outline or at least a general idea of the topics you want to cover.  Why not start with the assumption that your final paper will have 6 paragraphs (2 per page times 6 pages)?
3) sketch out the content of those paragraphs.  For example, one could (should) be and explanation of what amber in general is, how it forms, why it is of geologic interest (it preserves fossils), and perhaps brief mention of its use in jewelry.  Another paragraph could talk about Burmese amber in particular, how much of it there is, what kind of fossils are found in it, any other physical peculiarities (color perhaps?).  You’ve begun to talk about the regional geology of the Hukawng Valley, and that’s a paragraph.  It would include brief description of the major rock types and most prominent structures (folds, faults, whatever is there).  Ages of the rocks could come in this spot.  And it looks like you will want to tackle the tectonics of the region, another paragraph.  What has caused the deformation?
See the Google doc for comments on what you have written.
The attached article looks like it could be helpful, but don’t ignore easier sources like Brittanica, Wikipedia (sometimes), https://geology.com/usgs/amber/, straight-ahead Google searches (sometimes worthwhile), etc.

General instructions for the paper:
Each student will prepare a 750 word research paper describing the geology of a locality with which they are most familiar, (e.g. their home town or region) or about which they have particular interest (e.g. Mt. Vesuvius).  Papers must provide sources (citations) for all facts provided and a bibliography.  The bibliography must include a minimum of one peer-reviewed scientific article.  Papers must include at least one geologic map of the locality or region discussed. The map, any other figures and the bibliography do not count in the 750 words required.  The paper should discuss the following topics: What types of bedrock are in the region?  How old are the rocks?  By what methods were rock ages determined? How were the rocks formed? For each type of rock, what was the tectonic environment during during formation? Is the region tectonically active today? What natural hazards and natural resources are associated with the region? Is the region expected to experience any effects of climate change?
